Chris Somers

Sun Acquisitions is pleased to welcome Chris Somers to its Advisory Board. Chris is a seasoned financial professional with more than 30 years of experience advising organizations on strategy, risk, and long-term value creation. His deep background in institutional financial services and his ability to guide clients through high-stakes decision-making make him a strong asset to business owners preparing for the M&A process.

Based in Northern California, Chris most recently served as a Principal in Mercer’s U.S. Wealth business, supporting organizations across Northern California, Hawaii, and the Pacific Northwest. He has also held leadership and consulting roles at AIG, Lincoln Financial, PIMCO, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Fidelity Investments, and Ernst & Young, giving him a global perspective on operations, capital markets, and organizational strategy.

Chris holds an MBA in International Business from St. Mary’s College of California, a B.A. from Marist College, and multiple FINRA licenses. He lives in Northern California, with his wife, Ruthann, and enjoys time with their two adult sons and pursuing many hobbies.
